Sasol donates 375 blankets as cold front hits

These NGOs provide support to senior citizens and people living with disabilities.

SASOLBURG. – On Friday, May 31, just before the first severe cold winter weather hit the Vaal Triangle, Sasol donated 375 blankets to 10 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Metsimaholo.
These NGOs provide support to senior citizens and people living with disabilities.“Cold weather is well-known for its associated health risks, such as colds, flu, and even falls, which can have devastating effects on the elderly and people living with disabilities,” said Thuli Mbuli, Sasol’s Head of Community Affairs.
By donating blankets through Sasol’s Winter Warm Drive, we aim not only to keep some of the most vulnerable members of our community warm but also to offer them a little more safety from the perils associated with winter,” Mbuli added.
“Sasol is committed to being a catalyst for social change. One of the ways we achieve this is by working with organisations such as these NGOs to address the specific needs within our communities.
This collaboration allows Sasol and these organisations to bring about positive change for the benefit of the community,” Mbuli said, expressing gratitude to the NGOs for their vital work in Metsimaholo.
The Sasol Winter Warm Drive is part of Sasol’s social impact programmes designed to create a positive and measurable socioeconomic impact, addressing key societal challenges in the communities where Sasol operates.
The company’s social investment approach focuses on areas including quality education, the Bridge to Work Skills programmes, environment, health and service infrastructure, and Sasol for Good. This initiative incorporates skilled volunteering and employee giving, NGO capacity building, community support, philanthropy, and community development.
