DJ Ninkies up for MAMA’s Award
She is well known in the Vaal and surrounding areas as a DJ and MC.

This is the motto of the multitalented DJ Nomsa Ninkies who has been nominated for the Mzansi Arts and Media Awards (MAMA’s) in the category, Best Radio Presenter. The energetic 34-year-old presenter of weekly mid-morning programme, ‘Basadi ba Sethepu’ at Thetha FM was born and raised in the Vaal.
Her career began in 2007 at VUT FM as a Kiddies Show host, she then moved to Sedibeng FM to become an English news reader until she was promoted to host the breakfast show. Continuing to climb the ladder in her radio career, she ‘jumped ship’ in 2017 and joined Lekoa FM where she hosted the breakfast show and the mid-morning show.
The versatile Dj was spotted by the Thetha FM management in 2019 at an event where she was MC’ing and duly recruited, she has been with the Thetha family ever since. DJ Ninikies has worked with notable names in her field such as Wilson B Nkosi, T Bose, Sentle Lehoko and Msizi Shembe.
She is well known in the Vaal and surrounding areas as a DJ and MC who is also an Afro Pop vocalist with three singles. She is passionate about children and one of her wishes is to run a Day Care Center for the less fortunate one day.
