Missing man enroute to see ‘Gobela’ found decomposed

SEBOKENG. – A lovers search for his ‘better half’ has ended in tears after he had to identify him at the Sebokeng Mortuary on Tuesday.

An inquest investigation is underway after a decomposed body of Siyabulela Nxibe (32) was found in a sewage stream behind Kwa-Masiza Flats in Sebokeng over the weekend.

Sedibeng Ster reported last month (Man missing enroute to see ‘Gobela’) that Nxibe was reported missing by his partner, Lenkwane Ephraim Mothetsi at the Sebokeng police station early last month when he left their home and said he is going to Zone 20 to meet with his ‘Gobela’.

Later during the day Nxibe sent a voice note via Whatsapp and informed him that he was going to visit a friend at Golden Gardens. As it was getting late, Mothetsi sent a WhatsApp text message to Nxibe, but was it was never answered, that is when he became worried because this had never happened before.

On Tuesday Lenkwane went to Sebokeng Government Mortuary and identified the decomposed body that was found over the weekend in a sewage stream behind Kwa Masiza Flats as his partner, Siyabulela Nxibe.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the cause of death is unknown at the moment and investigations are ongoing.

“The police plead with the community members not to wait 24 hours when reporting a missing person, as there is no time frame to report a person as missing. Any person who may need police help can contact Sebokeng SAPS on 0824989563, 08600 10111 or 10111.”
