Rainbow nation was order of the day

This is a day that many will cherish for long time to come.

VANDERBIJLPARK.-  Rainbow nation was order of the day when Vanderbijlpark community, white and black, young and old, flocked to different voting stations to make their mark for on Wednesday.

It was friendly atmosphere with the community members having all time in the world to make friends and interact among themselves while standing on the line.

This is a day that many will cherish, for a long time to come.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, while waiting for their turn on line, the voters said that they were excited to come to vote for their respective parties. Some of the community members were wearing their political parties’ uniform while others didn’t want to be seen with party material as tis would indicate parties they are going to vote for.

“We are really excited to come to vote and it reminds us of the 1994 elections when the country was united. This is all about the future of our country especially our children to have better opportunities. It is always a special feeling to vote even though it is not for the first time we vote,” said the voters.

One of the voters who only introduced himself as Ntate Nhlapo said he couldn’t wait for this day to make his mark. “The way I am looking forward to vote, I didn’t even sleep at night, the way I was excited. I kept looking at my watch what time it was because I wanted to be the first to arrive at the voting station,” said Ntate Nhlapo.
