Friend allegedly stabs another to death in drunken stupor

THE BARRAGE. – The Barrage police are investigating a case of murder after a man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his friend in a drunken stupor last Friday.
Relating the incident to Sedibeng Ster, Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said that last Friday at about 23:30 a man known as Prince Kanthiti together with his friends went to a shebeen in Nanescol Plots outside Vanderbijlpark to drink.
“After they were drunk Kanthiti is alleged to have stabbed his friend Macson Phiri who died on the scene,” said Mohlakoana.
After the incident, Kanthiti ran away and is nowhere to be found, Mohlakoana said.
For this reason, Mohlakoana said the Barrage police are pleading with the community to help them get hold of Kanthiti. Both the suspect and the deceased are Malawian citizens.
“Prince Kanthiti is wanted for a murder case at Barrage SAPS and anyone who might know his whereabouts or might have seen him is asked to please contact Barrage SAPS Investigating Officer Sergeant Sweleka at 073 968 4089 or 082 778 9034.
