EFF Sedibeng establishes housing activation committee

“There are over 92,000 people approved with C forms, awaiting data and subsidies, who are still homeless without a piece of land or a place to call home.”

SEDIBENG. – After being inundated with complaints from landless people in Sedibeng demanding information about the status of their houses, the Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) has recently established a housing activation committee.

Isaac Khithika, EFF Sedibeng Chairperson said that the reality is that the people in Lesedi, Midvaal, and Emfuleni do not have houses and that the majority of them have registered since 1994, but that have yet to receive their houses.

He adds that C forms have been filled out, and some individuals’ statuses in the system show that they have been approved but the lingering question is why these individuals are not receiving the houses promised to them.

“There are over 92,000 people approved with C forms, awaiting data and subsidies, who are still homeless without a piece of land or a place to call home.”

Khithika stated that the majority of these individuals are either living in backrooms or renting.

“Community members have brought these complaints to the doorstep of the EFF in Sedibeng. In response, we have established a committee that will directly address these complaints with the Department of Housing, to provide clear feedback to our people.”

Community members are encouraged to send their unresolved complaints to the following committee members of EFF Sedibeng:

– Lesedi: Tshepo Molefe – 0648541581

– Emfuleni: Tony Thobela – 0731889117

– Midvaal: Martin Sithole – 0789373159
