“Be the change you want to see”: Motaung
"It is important as the youth that we focus on our talent and excel in it."
VEREENIGING. – In addition to winning the ultimate prize of the Miss Vereeniging competition, Kefilwe Lerato Motaung won in two other categories namely the Miss Vereeniging Most Confident 2023, and Miss Best Traditional Attire 2023.
A model and models’ instructor, Motaung won these at the event held at the Vereeniging Civic Theatre recently. As a semi-finalist, she donated one hundred and thirty-three clothing items to the Catherine Children’s Home in Vereeniging.
“The journey to the pageant was not an easy one but with God all things are possible.”
Motaung said that she lives by the motto that says: ‘Don’t be afraid to fail but be afraid not to try’.
“I am willing to bring changes in our beautiful community. I believe one should be the change they want to see. The donation (of clothes) wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for the support I got from my beautiful community. It is said that ‘it takes a village to raise a child’. It is important as the youth that we focus on our talent and excel in it. Stay away from substance abuse and other things that may hinder our future.”
