Four suspects appear in court for alleged murder

The case has been postponed to October 9 for a formal bail application.

ZAMDELA .– The case against four suspects accused of killing a man at the Walter Sisulu section, Zamdela, has been postponed to Monday, October 9.

The suspects, Pereko Mpaloane (21), Mogadi Mpaloane (25), Elias Mokoena (22) and Njabulo Madhala (22), appeared before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court for alleged murder on Monday, October 2.

The case has been postponed to October 9 for a formal bail application.

It is alleged that on Saturday, September 30 at about 08:20, the police received a complaint about an unknown male who was badly assaulted at Walter Sisulu section.

The police swiftly rushed to the scene and upon arrival they found an African male lying motionless on the ground.

It is further alleged that the victim was assaulted by four suspects after he was found in one of the suspects’ yard. The victim managed to escape and ran to a nearby house where he broke the window of the house while seeking for help, and the owner of the house called for help thinking that someone was trying to break in.”

In a statement police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani said the victim was declared dead by Emergency services and sustained injuries on his upper body and had blood stains on his chest.

Through Investigation, Zamdela Detectives managed to arrest two suspects earlier that day while their two accomplices were arrested later on the same day.
