Tourism day celebrated at Bass Lake

Wednesday 27 September was World Tourism Day.

HENLEY-ON-KLIP. – The Midvaal Local Municipality celebrated World Tourism Day at Bass Lake Adventures in Henley on Klip.

World Tourism Day is celebrated to highlight the significance oftourism in nurturing cultural exchange, economic growth, and sustainable development.

The theme for this year is ‘Tourism Invests in a Green Future’.

Midvaal Local Municipality’s MMC for development and planning, Mokete Motsamai, said in a statement that the choice of location underscores the municipality’s unwavering commitment to eco-friendly tourism initiatives.

The 75-hectare estate has grown into a full adventure resort, including open water swimming, kayaking, picnicking, swimming, snorkelling, fishing (seasonal), a world-class 4×4 track and so much more.

Motsamai says, “Bass Lake is a great example of Midvaal’s natural beauty, and it is imperative to preserve such an area for future generations to enjoy.”

“Midvaal Local Municipality will continue to support and showcase such locations as we strive to position the municipality as an investment and tourism destination,” he concluded.
