Death mounting following deadly building fire in the Johannesburg CBD
So far 52 people have died in the Johannesburg building fire
City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services Firefighters are currently responding to a five-story building reported earlier this morning in Johannesburg Innercity, Corner Alberts and Delvers around 01h30.

In a statement on Thursday the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services Communications Unit, on arrival Firefighters started to evacuate all the people out of the building while conducting Firefighting operations, so far 52 people were confirmed dead on scene and 43 people were treated on the scene and later transported to various health care facilities for further medical care, at this stage the cause of the fire incident is still a subject of investigations.
Officials from City of Johannesburg Disaster Management have been activated to start facilitating relief for affected families.
