Mayor congratulates athletes who formed part of SA team abroad
MIDVAAL. – The Executive Mayor of Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM), Peter Teixeira congratulated athletes who formed part of the SA team that participated in the WINA World Indoor Netball Association (WINA) Tri-Nations 2023 in Brisbane, Australia.
The South African u/23 mix team won silver medals in the 6-a-side and 7-a-side tournaments.
Midvaal’s Shane Labuschagne won the player of the tournament award for the 6-a-side tournament, while PC Pretorius, who was also the captain of the SA team, secured third place for the 7-a-side tournament’s player of the tournament accolade.
Annelise Botha was the coach for this u/23 Mix SA team and is also a Midvaal resident.
“Thank you for flying the South African and Proudly Midvaal flag high,” Teixeira said.
