She is currently enduring a lot of pain and can no longer work as a car guard due to the injury.

In the meantime, she has also lost her place of residence because she can no longer pay the rent.

Bernadette says the incident happened on Saturday 1 July 2023 during the Bonfire and Sherry Festival between 18:30 and 19:00 at the Centurions Bike Club in Shakespear  Street.

“A woman with a Land Rover stopped in the road. A few of the bikers and I helped push the vehicle. The man in the white Ford Ranger overtook the Land Rover and ran over my foot,” she says.

According to Bernadette, the bikers who helped push the Land Rover with her let the motorist know that he ran over her foot.

Bernadette says the motorist then said: “Oh, f*ck her!” and sped away from the scene.

According to Bernadette, one of the bystanders tried to take his number plate, but he left too quickly.

Bernadette was taken to Johan Heyns Hospital for treatment.

She will go for an operation on her foot on September 9.

Bernadette says she filed a case with the police.

She says the person is believed to be between 48 and 50 with black hair and drives a white Ford Ranger bakkie.

Bernadette says she and her lawyer would like to talk to the person about the pain and suffering she is experiencing, as well as the loss of income because she can no longer work as a car guard due to her injury.

She says she is even prepared to testify in court in mitigation if the man comes to the negotiating table.

People with information about who the person is can call Bernadette’s sons Jody on 067 637 6640 or Simon on 082 829 9737.
