Man dies in Meyerton industrial incident

According to emergency service, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT-SA), on Wednesday morning at around 09h00, their Vaal crew received a call for an industrial incident at SA Steelmill in Meyerton.

Witnesses state that the man was working on a machine when, allegedly, his jacket got caught in the gears of the machine, and he was fatally wounded.

“Upon our arrival, we found a male patient with multiple traumatic injuries and that he had sadly succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.”

The scene was handed over to Meyerton SAPS, and an investigation has been launched.”
