Parts of Emfuleni face water shortages

Residents in parts of Emfuleni woke up to dry taps on Tuesday morning, June 13. 

EMFULENI.- Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has issued a statement regarding water shortages that have been ongoing since early Tuesday morning, , June 13.

“To enable emergency leak repairs at the Rand Water Vereeniging Pump Station, water supply to Sharpeville, Bedworthpark, Vanderbijlpark, Sebokeng and Evaton will be shutdown today.”

According to ELM, Rand Water has already isolated the A15 and A21 pipelines supplying all of the above mentioned areas.
“No ETR can be communicated at this stage however, technicians have advised that repairs might take up to 24 hours to complete.”
To avoid prolonged interruptions, affected consumers who still have water are advised to use it sparingly to maintain reservoir levels until the situation normalizes.”
