Midvaal rated most financially sustainable municipality
Midvaal's Executive Mayor, Peter Teixeira said this achievement highlights the municipality's commitment to financial stability and responsible management.
The 2022 Municipal Financial Sustainability Index (MFSI) by Ratings Afrika has placed Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) and Saldanha Bay in the Western Cape as the most financially sustainable municipality.
This is the second consecutive year that both Midvaal and Saldanha Bay municipalities are ranked as the most financially healthy in the country.
The MFSI rates the 100 biggest municipalities in the country on a scale of 1 to 100 based on operating performance, liquidity management, debt governance, budget practices, affordability, and infrastructure development.
Both Midvaal and Saldanha Bay scored of 72 out of 100.
