Mayor Radebe launches school uniform roll-out program

The Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Cllr. Sipho Radebe launched a school uniform roll-out program.

Radebe launched the school uniform roll-out program in partnership with Seriti Mining program at Tshepong Primary School in Ward 21 on Monday March 6.

The roll-out program is aimed at aiding disadvantaged learners in Emfuleni, the benevolent programme will donate a total of 575 school uniforms in the wake of its conclusion.

Addressing a team of delegates from Seriti Mining led by Sharon Montoeli, the school governing body, educators and learners, the executive mayor highlighted the importance of the uniform program in our society.

Mayor Radebe spoke briefly of learning challenges disadvantaged learners go through and how the roll out program can assist aforesaid learners with their confidence and education.

“We are here today to donate these school uniform packs to encourage and give you hope. Our desire is to see you complete your education journey successfully and become exemplary citizens in our communities”, said Executive Mayor Radebe.

“It is my wish that we meet in the future, with some of you evolved into notable community leaders giving their all to change others’ lives for the better”, Mayor Sipho Radebe concluded.

Reacting to the initiative and Mayor’s address, Tshepong Primary School principal Penny Mosoetsa expressed her sincere gratitude to the municipality and Seriti mining for making allowance for her learners to be part of beneficiaries.

Mosoetsa said that the initiative will have an all-important impact on her learners’ education and general outlook on life.

The program will be running until Thursday, March 16.

A total of 9 primary schools in Sebokeng, Evaton and Bophelong will benefit in this period.
