More sluice gates opened at Vaal Dam to ease water pressure
Sluice gates were opened at the Vaal Dam on Saturday after heavy rainfalls.
Two more Vaal Dam sluice gates were opened on Saturday, bringing to twelve the number of open gates at the country’s sixth biggest dam.
The decision to open the gates comes in the wake of heavy rains in recent weeks.
The Vaal Barrage Hydrology notes that a further increase of outflow is very possible today still.
