Sheba the tiger was found and euthanised on Wednesday at around 01:55, this after authorities received reports of the big cat entering a farm with six dwellings.
Gresham Mandy, from the Walkerville CPF said Sheba attacked and killed one of the domestic animals, and a call was made for urgent assistance. Members responded to the scene, and began to track the tiger.”
After this attack, she moved to a more densely populated area and this left the authorities with a very difficult decision to make as the lives of more people and animals were at risk.”
Due to the terrain and area it was not possible to contain her or secure her safely.”
“At 3:45 the decision was made to euthanise her, unfortunately at that moment darting her was not an option.
This was not an easy decision to make at the time and the safety of the community of Walkers Fruit Farms was a priority.”

My 💔for a magnificent animal. Dead because human vanity demanded she be ‘owned’, incompetent electricity supply let her enclosure be easily breached. My heart goes out to the man attacked & injured & the 2 dogs killed while Sheba was being a tiger where she shouldn’t have been. pic.twitter.com/KEp0BhpA17

The owner of Sheba, the tiger is Martin Erasmus. He should be getting all the heat, not SAPS. What were the police meant to do?
