Smart meter reactivations now in Vanderbijlpark’s CE3

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Reactivation of about 1000 previously-installed smart meters has started in Vanderbijlpark’s CE3 area following a hugely successful drive in Three Rivers, Vereeniging, over the past year.

BXC’s blend of service delivery, consultation, area-specific social responsibility and multi-level communication has resulted in greater revenue generation and security for ELM – with praise from residents, politicians and business.

Now a wholly-South African company, BXC has established a new model of service delivery for municipal service providers, with an emphasis on sustainability and community involvement, said several ELM Councillors.

ELM’s coalition Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) for Finance, Councillor Hassan Mako, said this week the BXC focus was showing the way for all municipal and other Government service providers.

“As an ELM service provider, the BXC project model is ensuring greater revenue security for the municipality and reliable service delivery for residents and business.

“BXC is showing that consultation and social responsibility combined with ongoing communication provides sustainability in service delivery,” said Councillor Mako.

In Extension One, Three Rivers, BXC has already reactivated close to 1000 smart meters and launched a highly-successful street light repair programme, fixing more than 200 at own cost in an area previously ruled by criminality after dark.

In CE3, the focus will be on greater and more direct involvement of residents and businesses and BXC is launching a temporary but paid resident outreach programme on smart meters to engage door-to-door in the area.

CE3 residents who have just completed matric are considered ideal candidates but anyone interested from that area can submit a CV to admin@bxcsa.co.za – but must meet the criteria of being 18 or over, literate and be good at working with people.

BXC Project Manager Dawid Dirks has now again urged residents to be alert for possible criminal impersonators of its staff seeking access to homes and businesses.
