Good luck message from Cllr Hassan Mako to the class of 2022

"Stay positive, work hard and make it happen."

As thousands of matriculants are preparing for the upcoming final exams, the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) MMC for Finance and Revenue, Cllr. Hassan Mako is wishing the best of luck to all to the Matric Class of 2022.

“Compelled by a conviction that teaching, learning and testing of learners happened as planned in our schools this year, we are hoping for optimal performance from all students in Grade 12.”

“When compared to the past 2 years plagued by the Coronavirus pandemic this has been a very special year whereby education finally broke free from the pandemic and schooling returned back to normal.”

Mako said it is in this spirit that expectations are high for the class of 2022 matriculants who have a solid chance of achieving the best of outcomes for unlocking the next chapter of their learning journey, whether that is going to university of the entering the world of work and training.

“I have observed really positive Grade 12 results in Sedibeng over last few years.

The results have contributed to the 82.8% pass rate that was achieved in Gauteng for the 2021 academic year.”

“It is in this spirit that we are hoping for yet another uplifting ending to the 2022 academic year, this will reflect the hard work of both learners and teachers amid the most trying of circumstances in 2022.”

Mako reminded the class of 2022 that there are lots of options available for them, it matters not whether their exam results are as they expected, are better or are not quite as they hoped they would be.

“As the curtain for 2022 academic year draws to an official closure, matriculants who haven’t quite decided what to do next are advised not to panic, there are sufficient doors to open for them and plenty of support out there to help them make the right post matric choices.”
