Vandalism repeat at Seboka substation
Eskom estimates that it will take a period of about three weeks for repairs and supply restoration.
Vandalism has once again hit Seboka substation plunging Palm Springs, Sebokeng Zones 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and Small Farms into darkness.
According to Eskom the substation was vandalised in the early hours of Tuesday morning where panel wiring and protection cables were cut and stolen.

The power utility said it is concerned with the increase of incidents of theft and vandalism in the Vaal area.
In July 2020 the power utility shut down the Seboka substation for a month while effecting repairs to fix the damages which were caused by vandalism.
“We deplore the continuous theft and vandalism of our infrastructure in this area as this is happening for the second time in a space of two months. When these incidents occur there is loss of revenue and increased replacement costs for Eskom and they also affect essential services such as healthcare facilities”, says the Gauteng Customer Services Senior Manager, Daphne Mokwena.
“We urge communities to work with Eskom in fighting the scourge of vandalism and theft of the electricity equipment”, concluded Mokwena.
