Vaal’s ‘Rainbow’ ready to glow on Big Brother Mzansi

A popular musician from the Vaal is among the housemates of Big Brother Mzansi season 5.

SEDIBENG – As Big Brother Mzansi premiered its season 5 on January 12, the house received a sparkle, courtesy of Mathapelo Mashila also known as ‘Rainbow’.

Born and bred in the Vaal Region, the 27-year-old songstress is turning heads with her colourful rainbow braids as one of the new BBM’s Umlilo housemates.

This after the season kicked off with a bang, introducing not only a fresh lineup but also a new host, Smash Afrika. He is replacing Lawrence Maleka to guide viewers through the drama.

Nicknamed ‘Mata’, Rainbow is the pride of the Sedibeng region as she flies the flag high on this year’s 24-hour television competition walking in the shoes of Vaal’s own Mandla Hlatshwayo who won on the show in 2014.

In that year, Hlatshwayo, a former spaza shop owner from Sebokeng, walked away with a whopping R1m following his 63-day stay in Biggies’ house.

As she carries high hopes on her shoulders, could Rainbow be the next Vaal pride to make history?

Speaking in her promo video shared by the television production on their social media platforms, Rainbow promised to bring nothing but fire to Biggie’s house.

“I’m Bringing the Heat. If my life was a trending hashtag it would be #Thefunneverstops,” she said.

Matching her electrifying personality and dazzling confidence, Rainbow aims to capture the attention of millions of viewers.

“How I intend to bring the fire this season is firstly being myself. And with that being said, my personality is made up of different energies. One minute you might find the instigator in me, the pot stirrer, the gossip mover, and a little bit of everything and anything,” she added.

Following Rainbow’s announcement to be on the show, many took to her social media channels to wish her luck on her journey as a housemate.
