SEDIBENG – Sedibeng District women and men in blue gathered in a glamourous evening at Lapeng Hotel Conference & Events Centre, Walkerville for their Annual Excellence Awards.
This year, the theme of the awards was “Encouraging Innovation and Rewarding Excellence,” and it aimed to recognize the hard work and dedication of SAPS members in the region.
Among the gathered crowds, with the officers dressing in black tie was Gauteng police commissioner Tommy Mthombeni, among many other police brass.
Addressing the gathered crowds, Mthombeni said he felt privileged and honoured to attend the ceremony.
“This event is held to recognize the brief tolerance to honor women and men who exhibited good qualities and bring glory to our organisation by combating crime,” he said.
“We’ve gathered to celebrate and also give due regard to our values and morals. Awards are a way of encouraging good behavior. I’m pleased to announce the contribution of each and everyone gathered here has borne fruit. This event truly showcases the commitment the members have shown toward their work,” he said.
Giving the keynote address, Sedibeng Cluster Commissioner, Major General Nkhensani Lemba said “Innovation and excellence are not optional in our line of work they are essential. It’s about pushing the boundaries of duty and setting new standards for everyone to follow.”
