Successful family event held

FFS's head coach Nnamdi John said his club was proud of being part of this initiative. He said this collaboration has strengthened the school's ties with the local community and exemplifies its dedication to fostering a sense of teamwork and community spirit.

The recent Family Day event organised by Prestigious Aureate School in Vanderbijlpark SE1 was a lively and engaging affair. The event’s purpose was to increase awareness about the school and gather funds for a range of activities. Previously abandoned and left in disrepair, the school had become a refuge for criminals, vandals and drug users.
However, under the guidance of Principal WilmariƩ Botha, the school has been rejuvenated.

The event saw more than 300 enthusiastic participants ranging from learners, parents, the local community and local businesses making it a resounding success.
One of the highlights of the day was the friendly soccer matches with the school playing against the Flair Feet Stars FC (FFS), a local club based in Vanderbijlpark.
During the event, Prestigious Aureate School’s team engaged in both exhilarating and spirited matches against FFS where both teams showed commendable sportsmanship and talent.

Botha expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event and emphasised the strong sense of community and collaboration with the surrounding communities.

She emphasised the importance of such gatherings in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for the school, parents and communities.
“The support we received from the participants and parents from our school and other schools was truly remarkable. Their involvement and dedication have left a lasting impact and we are incredibly thankful for their contributions. This support reflects the strong bond within our school community, and I am deeply appreciative of everyone’s involvement.”

Botha said the event exemplified the school’s core values of unity, collaboration, and celebration. She said it also fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among all participants.

The school has also been generous enough to feature Emfuleni Local Football Association League matches, drawing in teams around the Vaal and crowds from different walks of life.

FFS’s head coach Nnamdi John said his club was proud of being part of this initiative. He said this collaboration has strengthened the school’s ties with the local community and exemplifies its dedication to fostering a sense of teamwork and community spirit.

“When the school approached the club to take part in this initiative, we made supporting them our top priority.”

John adds that the event provided a source of entertainment and fun for everyone involved and exemplified the school’s ethos of excellence and community engagement.
