Moving memorial for former radio host

"He had a desire to be successful and all he ever wanted was to help his community," said a mourner during Beleng's memorial.

SASOLBURG – Dozens of friends, colleagues, family members and fans gathered at Ministry Act in to honour the life of Thabo Beleng.

Beleng, a beloved radio host and local entrepreneur, tragically lost his life in a car accident on June 25.
The 35-year-old was returning from a funeral in Potchefstroom when the fatal crash happened in Sasolburg in the Central Business District (CBD).

Known for his infectious energy and dedication to his community, Beleng’s untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Many shed tears during the memorial as different speakers spoke highly of Thabo Beleng.

The memorial service saw an outpouring of grief and fond memories from those who gathered to pay their respects.

The church was filled to capacity with mourners, including members of Revival Act Ministry, the Metsimaholo Mayor, and numerous colleagues and friends.

Speaking during the memorial, Thato Sekhokoane, affectionately known as ‘Black Man’ shared an emotional memory.

“When I first heard of Thabo’s incident, I cried. We got together two weeks ago and during this visit he helped a 14-year-old disabled child. He had a desire to be successful and all he ever wanted was to help his community,” he said.

Sy Moyana, a close friend and business partner, reminisced about their time working together on a program at Karabo FM called You Are Never Alone.

Duncan Senthumolle, another close friend, talked about the deep bond they shared and the struggles they overcame together.

“We declared war on many things and when it was time to fight for what we believed belonged to us, we fought,” said Senthumolle.

Beleng’s funeral will take place on Sunday at the Zamdela Community Centre.
