Speak up… know your rights: Omphile Centre

Many community members are unaware of their power to effect positive change in their lives.

SEBOKENG.- Omphile Cognitive Development Centre orchestrated a Human Rights March held in Zone 11, Sebokeng on Friday morning.

The day commenced with a march from BP Garage in Zone 10 to the offices of Omphile Cognitive Development Centre. The theme of the event was “Speak Up and Know Your Rights,” urging community members to take a stand against abuse and trauma. Numerous activities were organised as part of the event.

Kopano Mitane, the organisation’s administrator, emphasised to Sedibeng Ster that the primary objective of the event was to raise awareness among the community about their rights and responsibilities. Mitane further highlighted that many community members are unaware of their power to effect positive change in their lives.

“We aim to inform our community about the resources available to them, encouraging them to support each other in becoming the best versions of themselves. Omphile Cognitive Development Centre extends gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of this event, including the Zone 11 community, SAPS, and the organisations that consistently support us during such initiatives,” Mitane expressed.

Among the stakeholders present at the event were Batho Batjha, Etelang Pele, Lesedi La Batjha, Emfuleni, Crime Prevention Wardens Unit, Love Life, and Community In Action.
