10 years conviction for attempted murder suspect

The victim had a grudge against the accused that led to the assault on the victim leading to serious bodily harm.

EVATON.- Evaton SAPS Detective SergeantMatthews Rasolumane has diligently worked to ensure that a suspect receives the necessary punishment by the law.

Police spokesperson, Thulisile Msibi said that on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at about 05:30 a suspect committed a crime in Evaton Boundary Road where a case of attempted murder was registered and handed to the Evaton police station’s investigating officer for further investigation.

Sergeant Rasolumane left no stone unturned, committed himself to bringing the culprit to book, and managed to secure a successful conviction. This is after the victim was assaulted with a firearm and later taken to hospital for medical treatment.

“A case was opened by the sister of the victim who took the victim to the hospital for medical treatment.”

Through the investigations done by the investigating officer, it was alleged that the victim had a grudge against the accused that led to the assault on the victim leading to serious bodily harm. Throughout the investigation, the suspect was identified and was arrested for a case of attempted murder. The investigating officer Sergeantt Rasolumane gathered all the information and presented it to Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court for prosecution.

The suspect appeared at Sebokeng Magistrate court and pleaded guilty for a crime he committed and was found guilty of attempted murder.

The accused, a 42-year-old man was given a ten years imprisonment sentence, which is suspended for five years.
