Twin sisters share the same dreams

"We encourage and push each other to work hard on our studies to achieve our dreams together as sisters academically and sports-wise.”

SHARPEVILLE.- Boitumelo and Boitumelo Motaung (13) are some of the few twins who participate in sports.

These Lekoa Shandu grade 8 learners from Sharpeville, were among the young people who took part in the Gala Swimming organised by Eligwa Swimming Club at Sharpeville Swimming Pool last Saturday. These two were competing against each other in the u/13 division and came 2nd and 3rd respectively in the freestyle.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the two said they are eager to make a career out of swimming and their biggest dream is to represent South Africa in the Olympics in the future. They were confident that they would achieve this with the support of their mother, Lerato Motaung.

They told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they are grateful for the support they receive from their mother in their studies and sports.

“Our mother always encourages us to do our best in everything we do especially our studies. She knows that today we are here to participate in swimming and she wished us good luck. We will make her proud one day especially after we finish school.  We want to travel the world and make a name for ourselves in sports,” said the pair.
