Gusha is passionate about changing people’s lives

“I want to help as many children as I can because people with money do little for their community."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Mantombi Gusha is a woman who is passionate about changing the lives of the community.

This selfless woman has taken it upon herself to take care of children who are in need and serve them lunch. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Gusha said she started this charity project through her company ‘Gusha Dee’ to help those children who come from the poor of the poorest in the community.

She told Sedibeng Ster that giving is something that is close to her heart and it has to do with her upbringing. Gusha further said that she wants to see more children benefiting from this project and she encourages the community to bring the children who need help to benefit from this project.

Gusha said she helps feed children from informal settlements such as France in Boipatong and Tshepiso in Sharpeville near Boxer.

“I want to help as many children as I can because people with money do little for their community. I don’t have money but with the little I generate from my business, I help my community. I don’t benefit anything from doing this but I grew up with this thing of helping the poor even when I was still at school, I used to share my lunch box with other children. It is tough out there and if we don’t play our role these children will end up stealing from their neighbours to survive.”

“We all know that most of the people are unemployed in our community especially after COVID-19 many of them lost their jobs.  We cook enough food for them to make sure that everyone goes to bed with something in their stomach. There is no way a child can concentrate in the classroom if he or she didn’t eat.”
