Think about the future: Maimane

"We must not allow ourselves to be swayed by individuals masquerading as politicians."

SEBOKENG. – Jubilant supporters of Build One South Africa (BOSA) warmly received their leaders, Mmusi Maimane and Nobuntu Hlazo Webster, during a visit to Zone 7, Sebokeng, last Thursday.

The visit, organised by dedicated BOSA champions and activists and led by Regional Chairperson Botiki Nkopane, provided an opportunity for the BOSA leadership to engage with one of the first Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), Four Steps CHBC, in Zone 7. Addressing the gathered crowd, Maimane emphasised that the communities of Vaal are not forgotten, which is precisely why the leadership of BOSA made it a point to visit them.

“We must not allow ourselves to be swayed by individuals masquerading as politicians, who have lost touch with the people and avoid addressing the pressing issues that continue to erode the dignity of families,” Maimane urged.

He went on to caution against the proliferation of political parties that have emerged from the ANC’s ranks, aiming to deceive voters who have been disillusioned by the ruling party’s failures since 1994. Maimane underscored the importance of considering the future generation and urged the community to take ownership of their freedom by recognising the significance of the upcoming national elections.

“The people of Sedibeng must remain vigilant against the familiar tactics employed by self-serving politicians throughout history, who seek to lure voters with false promises under different political banners,” Maimane emphasised.

He reiterated his party’s commitment to implementing the vision of ‘Creating a Job in Every Home’ once elected into power.

“BOSA firmly believes that 2024 represents our generation’s 1994 – a pivotal moment where we must not shy away from challenging the ruling party and preventing them from forming coalitions with emerging political entities. It’s evident that this year’s polls indicate a significant decline in support for the ruling party, falling well below the 50% mark,” Maimane remarked.

In conclusion, Mmusi Maimane and Nobuntu Hlazo Webster expressed gratitude to everyone present, emphasising that organisations like Four Steps CHBC and other community initiatives remain beacons of hope within their respective communities.
