EVATON. – Three suspects are behind bars, charged with house robbery and possession of suspected stolen property following their arrest in Evatonlast Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that at about 05:30 the victim was busy preparing for work, as she opened the door to fetch a mop outside, she came across three men who forced her inside the house, one of them had a firearm.
The suspects proceeded to the bedrooms and found the mother of the victim and younger sister, they were all tied with shoelaces on their hands and belts on their feet.
“The suspects started ransacking the house and took a laptop and the cell phones of the victims. They then left the house and the victim was able to untie herself and screamed for help outside. Neighbours came out and chased the suspects and managed to catch them,” Msibi said.
The police were called and the three were arrested immediately.
