SEBOKENG. – The parents of the learners at the Sehopotso Secondary School unanimously accepted the 2024 yearly budget during a meeting at the school in Zone 12, Sebokeng last week.
While invited to celebrate the matric results the school management also had the opportunity to hold a meeting before the celebrations to inform the parents about the school’s yearly budget and allow them to participate in its completion and agreement.
Amongst the school’s expenses this year will be the following:
- Generator Fuel
- Telephone rentals
- Computers
- Repairs Services (Water and Electricity)
- School Maintenance (Gardening, cleaning materials, repairs)
- Furniture (Library equipment)
- Stationery
- Extramural activities
- Matric Camps and Farewell
The total expenditure for the whole year will amount to over R 1 million which will be sourced from activities such as excursions (trips), and extramural activities, boosted also by the government allocation grant.
The parents’ concern was a lack of employment and poverty when it came to paying for trips and other activities such as civies days, however, they were assured that the school would try by all means to work hand in hand with them and that fundraising would also be held.
Finally, parents were encouraged to fully partake in their children’s education and lives in general.
