Nale shares football insight with Lesedi FM listeners

"I grew up in football and as a youngster, I was very fortunate to be coached by very knowledgeable coaches as an amateur player."

SEDIBENG.- Sedibeng Ster Sports Journalist, Zacharia Nale, is one of the analysts for the African Cup of  Nations (AFCON) on Lesedi FM’s weekly Sports Show, ‘Tsa Dipapadi’.

This popular sports show is hosted by Sebili Molefe and Dikeledi (DK) Letsiri who is also the show’s producer. Nale reflects on the Bafana Bafana games they played and shares his expectations and analysis with the listeners. After Bafana Bafana lost 2-0 against Mali, “Zakes” as he affectionately called predicted that Bafana Bafana would beat Nambia, and sure they did.

His prediction was spot when Bafana Bafana beat Namibia 4-0 in their second game of the Group E on Sunday. Nale is well known for his passion for football, especially the development of football in Sedibeng.

His football knowledge saw him predicting the future of players such as Thabo Rakhale, Lucky Mhlathe, Aaron Mokoena, and Abia Nale long before they played top-flight football. These above-mentioned players’ future was predicted by Nale in Sedibeng Ster former Vaal Weekly newspaper before they graduated to professional football.

Nale made a bold prediction when he told Lesedi FM listeners that Bafana Bafana would beat Namibia and Tunisia in their last two games. He also gave his analyses on Lesedi FM why Bafana Bafana lost against Mali and why they will beat Namibia and Tunisia. Bafana Bafana will play against Tunisia in their last game of Group E tonight, Wednesday.

“Look, I grew up in football and as a youngster, I was very fortunate to be coached by very knowledgeable coaches as an amateur player. I still remember the late Coach Mahlomola “Taylor” Mokoena would come and visit me and spend hours talking about football.  I also still remember attending a coaching course while I was still in high school and I was the youngest coach in the class with Coach Shakes Mashaba as our coaching instructor. It was a United Bank Coaching Course held at Kwa-Masiza Stadium back in 1993.”

Nale said that he reads a lot about football to improve his football knowledge and also spends time interacting with coaches to learn from them.

“This has helped me a lot to understand this beautiful game and I’m grateful for this opportunity to share my little football knowledge with Lesedi FM listeners. I try very hard to educate the listeners without criticising,” said Nale.
