Back to school campaign brings awareness to pupils

Police spokesperson Tshilidzi De Huis says the objective of the campaign was to raise awareness about safety at school and how to navigate keeping safe both at home and at school.

VAAL MARINA. – The Vaal Marina SAPS continues its efforts to make schools safer through various awareness campaigns.

Recently,officers partnered with various stakeholders to conduct a back-to-school campaign at Kudung Middle School.

Police spokesperson Tshilidzi De Huis says the objective of the campaign was to raise awareness about safety at school and how to navigate keeping safe both at home and at school.

“During the campaign, various speakers taught pupils about bullying, the danger of using substances and being in possession of dangerous weapons, discipline at school, and teenage pregnancy.”

Lerato Community Services social auxiliary worker, Somikazi Msungubali informed the learners about their services and urged learners to visit their office or call if they need any social services.

De Huis states that various contact details were shared with pupils in case of emergencies or assistance they may need.
