No domestic football until February

SEDIBENG.- There will be no semi and top-flight domestic football until February 11 due to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Sedibeng soccer fans will starve at least for a month as there will be no ABC Motsepe Foundation Championship action. The Motsepe Foundation Championship will resume its league program on February 13. AFCON kicks off on January 13 and comes to an end on February 11 with Ivory Coast being the hosting nation.

It is going to be a long month for local fans who used to pack the Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark to a capacity to watch Motsepe Foundation Championship matches either on Friday or Saturday in the afternoon.

Sedibeng hosted several Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures including the DSTV Diski Challenge last year. Motsepe Foundation Championship fixture will resume with Hungry Lions hosting Platinum City Rovers at Isak Steyl Stadium on 14 February.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship teams that are using Isak Steyl Stadium as their home ground are Marumo Gallants, Hungry Lions, NB La Masia, and Platinum City Rovers.
