EFF hosts successful community games

SEBOKENG.- The Economic Freedom Fighters  (EFF) in Emfuleni hosted successful Community Games at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Zone 14, Sebokeng on Saturday.

The sporting codes that formed part of these community games were netball and soccer with Vaal Eagle Netball Club being crowned the champions in the netball category while LA Flames Netball Club finished second placed. Project X FC was crowned the champions in soccer with Vaal Inter FC finishing second place in the tournament.

The winners received R 3000 for their effort while the runner-ups went home with R 2000.

Lerato Tladi from Vaal Eagle Netball Club was named the Player of The Tournament in the netball category while Pule Molete from Project X FC was voted the Player of The Tournament in soccer.  Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, EFF Emfuleni Sports Convener, Nobayeni Ntombela, hailed the community games as a great success.

She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the games went as they played with young people showcasing their God-given talent. Ntombela said the community games were part of the organisation to plough back to the community of Emfuleni.

“The purpose of the event was to keep our youth busy during school holidays and away from drugs through sports. We need more outdoor sports facilities in our community. We also encourage youth and parents to participate in sports to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Ntombela.

Ntombela also thanked all the people who contributed to the success of the community game. EFF Sedibeng Region Chairperson Isaac Khithika was also in attendance to support this initiative.
