Crime awareness in Evaton

Community members were encouraged to be the ‘ears and eyes’ of the police.

EVATON. – The members of the Evaton SAPS visited Evaton Central to share information regarding the surging crime in the area during the Festive Season.

The members shared crime tips amongst the community, and more than three hundred pamphlets were distributed, about business robberies, rape, murder, and the contact details of Evaton SAPS were also shared.

The pamphlets had prevention tips about hijackings, house robberies, and safety tips at shopping centers and malls. Police Spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that the community members were encouraged to be the ‘ears and eyes’ of the police and they were also advised to report any type of crime they come across.
