Midvaal welcomes mall investment worth millions

In a statement, MLM disclosed that the mall's development is expected to generate more than 800 temporary employment opportunities during its construction phase.

MIDVAAL. – The Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) has welcomed the development of Meyerton Mall along Pierneef Boulevard, heralding its potential impact on job creation and community development.

In a statement, MLM disclosed that the mall’s development is expected to generate more than 800 temporary employment opportunities during its construction phase. Furthermore, once operational, it is anticipated to create additional sustainable job prospects.

“The forthcoming mall will also bolster opportunities for Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), augmenting the local economic chain and unlocking potential new sectors. Residents will benefit from convenient access to a diverse range of products and services, along with improved community facilities,” the statement highlighted.

MLM Mayor, Peter Teixeira, emphasised that the new mall will eliminate the necessity for residents to travel to neighbouring areas for their shopping needs.

“This development holds promise for an upsurge in property values owing to enhanced infrastructure and commercial expansion. Our administration remains steadfast in fostering opportunities for all by fostering an environment conducive to investors,” stated Teixeira.

Teixeira affirmed MLM’s commitment to upholding governance standards and investing in infrastructure development, solidifying Midvaal’s status as a prime investment destination within Gauteng.
