It’s Trap and Amapiano for MTK Vibe

He is pushing Sesotho SA Music, but in his own way, as he mixes it with English.

EVATON.- 18-year-old Motlatsi Mkhabela aka MTK Vibe, an Evaton West Ext 4 resident has released an EP called ‘Long Ways’ on all digital platforms.

Mkhabela is doing different kinds of music (genres) but he is mostly into ‘Trap and Amapiano’. Like other youngsters his age and above, Mkhabela is pushing Sesotho SA Music but in his own, way as he mixes it with English.

He started doing music in 2015 but became serious in 2019.

“That is when I met the likes of Kaydeep, Black T, Beat Intruder, and Mossey Kiid in Production.”

In 2020 he released an album called ‘Minutes of Life’ and many people from his ‘Kasie’ were inspired. Tracks that made him recognised are ‘Popa’ featuring Beat Intruder and ’18 Kahare’ featuring Mossey Kiid. In 2022, Mkhabela received a certificate from the Department of Arts and Culture in Johannesburg where he was chosen as the ‘Best New Comer’ and ‘Performer’.

‘Long Ways’ has received 50,000 streams in merely two months of its release on Spotify, he was nominated at the Timeline Hip Hop Awards for the ‘Best Male Artist’ and Most Streams on Spotify.

“I just want to make my fans aware that I’m releasing an album that will feature big names in the entertainment industry next year. My main aim is to have my recording label and sign artists. I want to see struggling artists become successful.”
