Nkoli wins ‘Best Male Teenager Author’ Award

"My life is defined by using it to be the voice of the voiceless and serving my country."

SEDIBENG. – Local, Karabo Nkoli who became one of South Africa’s youngest produced authors at the age of 14 in 2016 recently won ‘The Best Teenage Male Author’ at The Book Behind Awards that took place at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall.

Accompanied by his family, Nkoli received the award for his latest book, ‘Conscious in Crisis’.

Nkoli, who is also the Chairperson of Youth Must Rise, was in 2016 crowned the Rising Star at the YB20 Youth Awards. He also received the African Honoree Author Award in 2022, to mention a few.

“I am truly humbled and thankful for this award. My life is defined by using it to be the voice of the voiceless and serving my country. I hope this award will reach many spaces for this book and the message that it carries,” Nkoli said.

According to Nkoli, this award is a testament to the reality that the youth of South Africa will rise and lead the winds of change from all sectors of our society. He thanked his family, friends, and everyone who believed in him while dedicating the award to all who voted for him.

The Best Teenage Male Author award was presented by The Book Behind Awards on 11 November 2023 at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall.

Nkoli has also reassured that a poetry collection and other book projects should be expected in the future and that he is investing his time in serving the youth through ‘Youth Must Rise’ which is a youth movement he has founded that is dedicated to the rise of the youth.
