Mabula garners global teacher’s award

Mabula says teaching is her personal mission. She urges other educators to be selfless educationalists who will be able to put the needs of an African child before their own.

MEYERTON. – Sicelo Primary School Deputy Principal Florence Mabula recently flew the South African flag High in Delhi, India where she was honored with a Global Teacher’s Award at the recent Global Education Fest 2023.

Mabula joined a cohort of educators from various continents around the globe. The recognition comes after Mabula received a SHERO award from Basic Education Minister Angie Motshega in 2022.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mabula said she was honored to be chosen among the best teachers.
“It was an immense honor to be recognized on an international stage. I’m grateful for the opportunity. It was my first time going overseas and the experience was overwhelming.

“I was looking forward to meeting the cohort of teachers from around the globe. I have learned valuable lessons during the Global Education Dialogue which is a panel discussion that took place during the event.”

Mabula says teaching is her personal mission. She urges other educators to be selfless educationalists who will be able to put the needs of an African child before their own.

“I urge them to be creative and think out of the box. Not to allow their work environment to consume them and be productive as the day gets.”

Mabula thanked her family, friends, colleagues, learners, mentees, Sedibeng East District cluster 6, and education veterans.
