Teams back in action after FIFA break

"They can’t afford to drop the ball, especially against the struggling Rovers."

SEDIBENG.- After the FIFA break, PSL and Motsepe Foundation Championship teams will be back in action this weekend at various venues.

Back here at home, Platinum City Rovers FC will host Upington FC in the much anticipated Motsepe Foundation Championship. This encounter will take place at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark on Saturday.

Kick-off time is at 15:00.

This encounter promises fireworks with Rovers desperately in need of maximum points to improve their position on the log standing. Rovers occupy the 14th spot on the log with 10 points from 12 games. They have registered only two wins, drew 4 games, and lost 6 games since the season started.

It was the same situation last season when they survived the relegation axe in their last two games of the season. However, it is not going to be a walk in the park as they are up against a team that is in form. Upignton FC is position 7 on the log with 17 points from same number of games as Platinum City Rovers. They won 4 games and drew 5 five and against the struggling Rovers, they are going for a kill to maintain their position on the log standings.

It is a Do or Die affair with Rovers fighting for survival and Upignton FC will want to maintain their impressive form in the league this season so far. They can’t afford to drop the ball, especially against the struggling Rovers.

However, this FIFA break gave Rovers a technical opportunity to work on their weakness to improve certain aspects of their game.
