Despite stumbling blocks ‘young’ Zibuta perseveres

"We're trying to be the difference we want to see in the community. I always say, face your power, embrace your future."

SEDIBENG. – Despite all the hardships faced by many, the young girl, Thandeka Zibuta (21), who was recently nominated as a Finalist for Face of Metsimaholo 2023 continues to do wonders, by giving back to the community.

Zibuta and her team went to Mmokeng Wa Maqheku Old Age Home in Sasolburg where they brought joy to the elderly by sharing with them snacks, sweets, and many other needed ‘day to day’ items such as toiletries.

“The elderly were so happy and welcomed us with open arms. They were so happy to have young people visit them which is rare in this age and time. It was a blessing to be around old people. I received all the blessings from them,” Zibuta said.

Originally from Tumahole in Parys, Zibuta is currently a student at Flavius Mareka in Sasolburg where she is studying Boiler Making.

“I want to thank everyone for their support. I will forever be grateful. The Face of Metsimaholo Beauty Pageant is not only about makeup and walks. It’s about being involved in the community and giving back to the community, which really matters. We’re trying to be the difference we want to see in the community. I always say, face your power, embrace your future. Once you start believing in yourself, self-confidence arises.”

The journey continues, and life goes on for Zibuta who started modeling in 2021 and has so far managed to win Miss Ore Incarnate SA 2022/23 Queen for Free State and two other special titles. She has also won a Miss Mandela Day Ambassador pageant and two other special titles.
