ANC Sedibeng mourns ‘Tata’

" Our (ANC) members especially councillors, need to honour Madoda's memory by actively engaging with the community."

SEDIBENG.-  The African National Congress in Sedibeng is mourning the passing of one of their comrades, Madoda ‘Tata’ Mkhumbeni.

Mkhubeni who was currently a Ward 16 Councillor died on Tuesday following a short illness.

Ward 16 encompasses Rus-ter-Vaal, Waldrift, and Arconpark, and Mkhumbeni is said to have worked tirelessly to unseat the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Councillor who was leading it before him.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster ANC Sedibeng Regional Secretary, Jason Mkhwane said that the ANC in Sedibeng deeply mourns the passing of Mkhumbeni, who he said, was a beloved and respected member of the community.

“Comrade Madoda, affectionately known as ‘Tata’, leaves behind a legacy of unwavering dedication and commitment to the ANC and the people of Sedibeng.  His organisational and leadership skills were invaluable, particularly as we navigate the upcoming election period, which poses significant challenges for the ANC in Sedibeng,” Mkhwane said.

He further called for his party members especially councillors, to honour Madoda’s memory by actively engaging with the community.

“Let us proudly wear the ANC’s regalia on Friday, 17 November, and work tirelessly to mobilize first-time voters for the 2024 elections. To the Mkhumbeni family, we extend our heartfelt condolences. We are grateful for the privilege of having had Comrade Madoda as part of our ANC family. His selflessness, dedication, and principled leadership will forever be cherished and remembered.”

At the time of going to print Mkhumbeni’s funeral arrangements had not been made public.
