Mjay, a DJ with future plans

A rising star is capturing the attention of music enthusiasts and dance floor specialists alike.

SEDIBENG – Dennis Mojalefa Kheswa, a 29-year-old DJ, has been making waves since he first laid hands on the decks back in 2010.

His journey began in the intimate setting of Evolution Pub, fondly known as ‘Ha Teboho’ in Zone 7, Sebokeng.

Armed with a laptop and a passion for music, Khwesa kicked off his DJing career in this small but vibrant space.

Not long after, the young music junkie found himself under the mentorship of DJ Chaknino, who guided him through the intricacies of CDJs.

After just two days of lessons, Kheswa took to the decks at the renowned Mshepepe Wase Vaal’s Schwatlamlapa series of events, showcasing his newfound skills.

Over the years, Dennis has graced some of the biggest stages and outlets in the industry.

“I have played in big places such as Makubenjalo, Dickinsonpark and BK Lifestyle. My DJ sets have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those lucky enough to experience them,” he said.

When asked about his influences in the industry said “I look up to the likes of Kelvin Momo, Kabza De Small, Sam Deep, and (DJ) Stokie. These artists are known for their exceptional skill and unique musical productions, and it resonates with my deep level. I admire their ability to craft and play music that connects with my own musical sensibilities,” he said.

Looking towards the future, Kheswa envisions himself as an international DJ, spreading the joy of good music across borders.

“My aspirations extend beyond the DJ booth, with dreams of owning my own studio. I am eager to share my knowledge and expertise with upcoming DJs. I emphasize the importance of mastering equipment operation and learning the techniques employed by professional DJs to create seamless mixes,” added Kheswa,.
