Sisters roll-up their sleeves for the needy

"This thing of giving is within our family."

SHARPEVILLE.- Two sisters from Sharpeville are doing amazing work as they roll their sleeves to help the disadvantaged community.

The Mosia sisters, Refiloe and Charlotte from Vuka in Sharpeville started an initiative three years ago to cook for homeless people and street kids. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the Mosia sisters said they cook for needy people every Sunday.

This past Sunday they took to the streets of Vereeniging to give food to the homeless and street kids. The pair told Sedibeng Ster that this has something to do with their upbringing, to help those who are in need.

“This thing of giving is within our family and when we grew up, our mother used to help people in the community. We thought we must continue with her legacy to help those who are in need.”

“We cook for them (the poor) every Sunday and we do so from our own pockets. But sometimes there will be good Samaritans who contribute something. We started this project and we were later joined by our cousin and we decided to call this initiative ‘Three Cousins Charity’,” said Refiloe.

They told Sedibeng Ster that they welcome any form of assistance from business people, companies, and individuals.
