RESA represents Sedibeng at the Provincial Nedbank Cup

In the second semi-final, Vaal Elite Academy secured their place in the final against RESA.

EVATON.- It was a day filled with action and talent at Qedilizwe ground as Safa Sedibeng teams clashed in the Regional Nedbank Cup in Evaton North on Saturday, 14 October.

In the first semi-final, RESA triumphed over Vaal Milano FC with a 2-0 victory in an exhilarating match. Despite falling behind 2-0, Vaal Milano FC came out in the second half with fierce determination, launching relentless attacks from all angles in search of an equaliser.

However, RESA defended resolutely, with their backs against the wall. They breathed a sigh of relief when the referee blew the final whistle, and celebrations erupted all over the field and on the bench. In the second semi-final, Vaal Elite Academy secured their place in the final against RESA by defeating Mmabatho FC 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Local soccer enthusiasts who attended the games were treated to a day of entertainment, from the first match to the last.

The second semi-final between Vaal Elite Academy and Mmabatho FC witnessed three players receiving red cards from the referees due to various incidents and misconduct. Vaal Elite Academy finished the game with only nine players, as two of their players were sent off, while Mmabatho FC concluded with ten players. However, the team that ended the match with fewer players emerged as the winners after the penalty shootout. RESA will represent Sedibeng in the Provincial Nedbank Cup after their thrilling 2-0 victory in the nail-biting final, which was played at the same venue on the same day.

Oupa Tladinyane, a member of the Safa Sedibeng competitions and Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) expressed his satisfaction with the performance of all the teams on the day.

“I have no doubt that we will be well represented in the Provincial Nedbank Cup. We witnessed exciting football throughout the day, right up to the final. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate RESA, and I am confident that they will make Sedibeng proud in the Provincial Nedbank Cup,” said Tladinyane.
