Shaven is the first Vaal football agent to be accredited by FIFA

The same year he took an exam with FIFA through SAFA but failed the course.

SHARPEVILLE.- Sipho Shaven (41) has become the first football agent in Sedibeng to be accredited/granted a new FIFA regulations license.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Shaven said that his father used to own a football club but little did he know that one day he would be a football agent.

“It is a great joy and relief to be granted a new FIFA regulations football agent license. When I was 12-years-old my father owned a club known as Sharpeville Blackpool. In fact, I grew up in Roodepoort and my parents relocated to Sharpeville when I was only 12. My father used to be a co-owner of a team called Dobsonville Blackpool and that is where it all started for me, for the love of football.

“I was playing for the junior divisions through the levels but not for long as I decided to hang my boots and I had an interest in managing soccer players,” said Shaven.

Shaven told Sedibeng Ster Sport that his passion for football made him pursue his dream to become a football agent and that in  2009 when he worked at a company known as Tongaat Hullet as a Field Operator he decided to approach SAFA about this FIFA agent course. They gave him full details of how to go by. The same year he took an exam with FIFA through SAFA but failed the course.

However, Shaven didn’t give up and the following year he went for it but failed again. In 2011 he managed to pass and he was the only candidate who passed on the day, and as they say, the rest is history.

Shaven told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he wanted to be one of the top football agents in the world.
