MEYERTON. – 18-year-old Zandile Nkosi from Meyerton is a semi-finalist in the Vereeniging Pageant. Nkosi believes in leading a life that is true to her inner self.
Apart from modeling, Nkosi likes painting, poetry, public speaking, volunteering, running, and mentoring young girls.
“I am a firm believer that staying true to your values means you do not have to sacrifice and betray your own identity, the part of who you are. When we live in sync with our values, we feel satisfied, self-actualized, and more confident in who we are.
In this round, Nkosi will be competing with 17 girls to garner the title.
“At the moment, the journey is only beginning for us as Semi-Finalists for the Vereeniging Pageant. The experience has been quite positive and professional coming from the team behind the pageant. They have been consistently communicating with us and encouraging us to enjoy the journey as much as we can even though it is a competition at the end of the day.
Talking about what the pageant has taught her, Nkosi says she has learned discipline, accountability, and belief in herself.
“I am a person who firmly believes in time management. I believe it is essential as it helps you to achieve greater focus. Not only that but it helps build positive habits for your life.
“I have gotten a few brand collaboration and campaign requests from local brands and organizations to promote their work. I have also been allowed to get exposure through the local media. What sets me apart is my tenacity, hard work ethic, and leadership skills,” she says.
Nkosi strongly advocates for youth skills development and adds that she would use her title to share compassion, and kindness in the world.
“Let us spread love amongst one another. Let us not hurt one another or work against each other but rather let us actively join hands, spread positivity, and give back to our community.”
