SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng Netball B Team and Senior Male Team were crowned the 2023 Gauteng Provincial Netball Championship after they beat Tshwane 19-17 and Joburg Male 15-11 in the finals.
These championships took place at West Rand last Saturday.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Refilwe Mokoka said that the two teams made Sedibeng proud by bringing the trophy home. Mokoka said it was an encouraging performance for both Sedibeng B and Male Netball Team throughout the tournament.
“I must say, we went to this tournament well prepared and I must compliment the coaches and players for a job well done. I was very impressed with our teams’ performance and it was not a fluke we were crowned the champions in both categories,” she said.
Mokoka is confident that the Sedibeng Netball Team will do well in the South African Netball Championship. However, she told Sedibeng Ster Sport, that their biggest challenge is still sponsorship. She made a special plea to the companies and businesses to come on board to help the Sedibeng Netball teams financially.
